Show LaFaye Steed and Kent M. Harmon Married In St. George Temple Ceremony Pres. Harold S. Snow performed the ceremony at the St. George Temple at high noon, Wednesday, Sept. 16, uniting in marriage Miss LaFaye Steed and Kent Midgley Harmon, both of Glendale, Calif. A large circle of family members witnessed the ceremony. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Steed of Glendale, Glen-dale, Calif. She is a graduate of Glendale junior college and has been associated with Mr. Harmon throughout her school life in Glen dale. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Harmon, formerly of this city and now of Glendale. Since graduating from Glendale junior college he has graduated from the University of Redlands, Calif., where he was awarded a teaching fellowship in chemistry at the University of Berkeley, Calif. Parents of both bride and groom accompanied them to St. George for the marriage, and were guests while here of the groom's grandmother, grand-mother, Mrs. Alice W. Harmon, who was among those who witnessed wit-nessed the marriage. The wedding party arrived in St. George early Monday, and on Tuesday were accompanied to Zion National Park for a pre-wedding outing and picnic by 30 relatives from St. George. Games, hiking, a steak bake picnic dinner and an informal campfire program filled the day with entertainment. On Wednesday evening following follow-ing the marriage ceremony and afternoon session at the Temple, the groom's grandmother was hostess at her home for an informal in-formal family dinner. The group left this (Thursday) morning for Glendale, where the bride's parents will entertain 250 guests on Saturday evening, Sept. 26th at their home at a garden wedding reception. For this event the bride will wear her wedding gown of white slipper satin with full-length train and wedding veil, the latter suspended from a tiara of seed pearls? Her boquet will be a shower of gardenias. Attending her as matron of honor will be Mrs. Richard L North of Glendale. |
