Show Miss Alice Thompson and E. LeGrande Nelson Marry Here Tuesday Evening In a quiet, informal ceremony at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Thompson, Miss Alice Thompson was married Tuesday evening to E. LeGrande Nelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Nelson of this city. Bishop Andrew McArthur offci-ated offci-ated in the presence of a group of relatives and intimate friends. The bride wore a beautiful white dress of French Airline. and lace with a corsage of red rosebuds. Attending her were Mrs. Edward Simmons, dressed in rose taffeta, and Miss Jane Pace, wearing a pink lane jacket over pink net. Milton Nelson, brother of the groom, acted as best man. The bride's mother wore a pale blue dress with corsage of sweet peas and carnations and the groom's mother was gowned in dark blue with a corsage of roses. The rooms were decorated with roses and fall flowers. Immediately following the ceremony cere-mony the young couple left for a brief honeymoon before going to Logan, where they will make their home and where Mr. Nelson has employment with the J. C. Penney company. Miss Thompson was guest of honor at several parties during the past week including showers given giv-en by Mrs. Ann Price and Mrs. Norman Johnson, and Mrs. Charles Andrus. On Sunday Miss Thompson was hostess at her trousseau tea at the home of Mrs. H. C. Thomas, sister of the groom. She was assisted in displaying her many lovely things by Miss Jane Pace and Mrs. Edward Simmons, and in serving by Miss Roma Snow, Miss Virginia McArthur, Mrs. Ray Schmutz, Miss Doris Atkin, Mrs. Bud Kunz, Miss Vivian Rencher, all formally gowned and wearing corsages of sweet peas and carnations. carn-ations. The center-piece of the serving table was late fall roses and on display in the dining room was the beautiful four-tiered wedding wed-ding cake. Over a hundred friends called during the afternoon. |
