Show Mr. and Mrs. Moses E. Gifford Celebrate Golden Wedding Anniversary SPRINGDALE, Utah Mr. and Mrs. Moses E. Gifford celebrated their Golden wedding anniversary February 13, with a program in the evening. The entertainment was sponsored by their children and grandchildren. They were both pioneers of Dixie. Moses E. Gifford was born in Shonesburg June 18, 1S69, in a house built of native rocks. Shonesburg is on the east fork of the Rio Virgin. He is the son of Samuel K. Gifford and Lora Ann Demill. His mother died while he was just a baby and so his sister became nurse until his father married again. He came with his parents to Spring-dale Spring-dale while at the age of six, where he has resided since. He has been actively engaged in church work. He filled a mission in the Southern States in the year 1S99. He was president of the Y.M.M.-I.A. Y.M.M.-I.A. for 17 years making his own fires and always starting on time. He was first counselor in the bishopric 13 years, after which he served as assistant superintendent superinten-dent in the Sunday school for a number of years, then acted as superintendent for one year, when his health failed so much he had to resign his responsibilities. Since then he has spent his time writing poems and making sou-veniers sou-veniers with his pocket knife. Araannah Ruth Millett was born in Spring valley. Lincoln county. Nev. September 8. 1S70.
