Show Dixie Young Ladies Wed In Double Ceremony December 9 In San Francisco The Army, Navy, Marine and civilian civi-lian life were represented in the double wedding ceremony at the home of Bp. and Mrs. C. W. Nel-der, Nel-der, 1681 Hayes St. San Francisco, Calif., Saturday, Dec. 9, when Lieut (jg) Adelia Hall became the bride of Capt. T. S. Rushforth of the U. S. Army and Miss Elaine Hafen the bride of Lieut. Maurice Briggs of the U. S. Marines. The two couples stood before the mirrored mantel in the living room of the Nelder home, Bp. Neldcr of San Francisco ward performing per-forming the ceremony at 8:15 p. m. Mrs. Nelder played the Loehn-grin Loehn-grin Wedding March as the two couples entered the living room and a medley of love songs preceded pre-ceded the ceremony. White chrysanthemums chry-santhemums were used in both the living room and dining room. Lieut. Hall of the WAVES is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orson Hall of Pine Valley and St. George and Capt. Rushforth is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Rushforth Rush-forth of Kaysville, Utah. Both were attired in their respective uniforms. Miss Hafen is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Hafen of St. George. She wore an afternoon dress of powder blue wool with pink accessories ac-cessories of elbow length gloves, pink hat and shoulder length veil. Lieut. Briggs wore the official blue dress uniform of the Marines. The brides had identical boquets of one large orchid on a prayer book surrounded by a shower of gardenias and bavardia. The two brides and Lt. Briggs are graduates of Dixie junior college. Lieut Hall also graduated Hafen and Capt. Rushforth and from the University of Utah. Miss Hafen and Capt Rushforth graduated gradu-ated from the U. S. A. C, and Lt. Briggs from the B. Y. U., Provo. Following the ceremony Bp. and Mrs. Nelder were hosts at an informal in-formal reception in the dining room of their home with a group of intimate friends of the brides as-aiqej as-aiqej aux -Sutajos u.ta Suijsis was centered with a mammoth wedding cake topped with miniature minia-ture replicas of thejwo couples. |
