Show Mrs. Tina Macfarlane Honored On Birth Date Mrs. Tina Macfarlane was honored with a family dinner Saturday, Dec. 9, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Judd, the occasion being her 86th birthday anniversary. anniver-sary. Her daughter, Mrs. Samuel Bleak ad son, Ross, of Salt Lake City, who have been visiting with her for the past week, were among those present at the dinner. din-ner. They returned home Saturday Satur-day evening. Born in the stress of pioneer times in Salt Lake City, Mrs. Macfarlane was under four years of age when her parents, Thomas and Mary Brownett Forsyth, moved mov-ed to Santa Clara in 1862. They later settled permanently in To-querville, To-querville, having a summer home at the foot of Pine Valley mountain moun-tain where her father set up and operated a saw mill. From her mother she learned glove making and many pioneer arts. She was an early graduate of the Brigham Young University and taught school in Kane county before her marriage to the late Isaac. C. Macfarlane. Although she suffered a broken wrist and shoulder while visiting in Salt Lake City a year ago, she has not given up her art craft work. She makes beautiful netted lace, nits, crochets, pieces quilts and does a variety of other work as well as keeping up her own house. She claims that keeping busy is the best tonic she knows for anybody, any age. |
