Show only a .small portion of our hind has been planted, owing- to to the scarcity of the water supply, and therefore we only expect a small harvest. There was a most splendid fall of rain during- the lat ter part of last week, which made our farmers happy: and to show appreciation, of the heavenly blessing, all of the water was allowed to run down the Clara to help save crops below. A farewell party was given on the 7th in honor of Elders William J. Snow, Joseph D. Cox, and Willard Burgess, who leave Salt Lake City on the loth inst. for missions; the two former for the Eastern and the latter for the Southern states. 1'iNI" VAI.LKY, Our stockmen all left ycterdaj for the rouud-up. or drive, to remain until the 20th. Elders William Gardner and O.. H. Snow returned ou the 7th inst. from a home missionary tour through the western settlements. The crops are in excellent condition at present owing in the hit,, ruin.
