Swanson is employee of month Uintah School District employee of the month for April is Mary Swanson. Ms. Swanson has taught at Maeser Elementary School for the past six years. The last four have been in Resource. Computers are an important part of her program for children with special needs. She has made numerous educational educa-tional computer programs for use in her classroom and for the district. She even exchanges programs w ith a school in Salt Lake City. "Learning by computer teaches self-esteem." self-esteem." believes Ms. Swanson. who also taught a summer school class in 1981 using computer learning techniques. techni-ques. "Mary probably knows as much about computer programming as anyone in the district." says Donna Massey, also a teacher at Maeser Elementary. Ms. Swanson has attended USU and the University of Utah. She grew up in Orem. Her son Jeffery is a sixth grader at Maeser Elementary. She is married to Dave Swanson.
