Show SHRINE CIRCUS STAGED FOR SICK KinniFS Visitors to Salt Lake City next week can anticipate their first circus of 1953 the Polack Bros. Shrine circus, showing for the benefit bene-fit of the Intermountain Unit Shriners hospital for crippled children. The circus will show at the state fair grounds June 11, 12 and 13, Thursday through Saturday, matinees mat-inees and evenings, with the profits prof-its helping kiddies from Utah, Wyoming, Wy-oming, Idaho, Nevada, Colorado and Arizona, announced N. P. Met-tome, Met-tome, El Kalah Shrine Temple potentate. More than 20 top acts, including many internationally famed artists ar-tists of the sawdust rings, make up the show, which was the only large circus to play Salt Lake in 1952, appearing before 45,000 persons per-sons in six performances. Shriners and public spirited business groups will be hosts to several thousand underprivileged kiddies, furnishing transportation, refreshments and tickets. Among the acts are Widman's elephants, Joyce's camels, Luciana's horses, Janet's dogs and ponies, Ivanoffs on the horizontal bars, Sheridan Bros, high wire artists, Whirlwind skaters, Theron -family cyclists, Meltita's aerialists, La-doff's La-doff's comedians, Miss Lexi on the trapeze, Meteors and their 90-foot sway pole, Hawaiian ballet, a dozen clowns and Henry Kye's band. Reserved seats ($2.40 and $1.80) will go on sale Saturday, June 6, at 2nd South and Main, Salt Lake City. |
