I It is a most interesting career J. V. Waters, manager of Ottley's Paint Pot in Sugar House, has cut out for -himself and which came quite by accident and not by design, for he plunged from an animal husbandry major to a profession in interior decorating. If you are not enthused with paint, wall paper and interior decorating dec-orating in general, he arouses that enthusiasm with his definite ideas on color schemes for temperaments and personalities. He prefers the more conservative conserva-tive colors in decorating, but maintains main-tains that he likes to sell the bright and gay colors to women who are undecided and can't make up their minds. Nervous people should choose the pastel colors, he said. In college he majored in animal husbandry, minored in mathamat-ics, mathamat-ics, purchasing and dramatics. It was the inspiration from the dramatics course that lead to his interest in interior decorating. After he graduated from the BYU he later went to New York City where he took a special course in interior decorating. He has been with the Ottley Sugar Sug-ar House store for the past 16 months where he is manager and does the buying for all three stores. Waters is active in the LDS church where he has held many offices including drama director of the Mutual. The Waters make their home on a two acre city ranch where he enjoys his hobby of pure bred Suffolk sheep. He has taken first prize and grand champion at the Nephi ram sale. This year he expects to take his sheep to the state fair. Hunting in the Strawberry country coun-try is his favorite sport. |
