Show OLD S.H. PARK TO BECOME PARKING AREA An employee parking area will be constructed on the old Sugar House park, it was announced at the board of directors meeting of the chamber Tuesday noon. The park, which has not been in use for some time, will be graded and graveled adjacent to the old tennis courts. The area will serve some 400 to 500 cars L. C. Romney, parks commissioner commis-sioner and guest at the meeting, pledged the cooperation of the city parks department in the grading and graveling project for the parking park-ing lot The chamber received permission from the road commission to install a pedestrian light at the pedstrian lane between Pehrson hardware and the Seagull Drug. The project is yet to be approved by the city. The light would coordinate with the traffic light on 21st South. Vern Mackay presided at the meeting, which was held at the Beau Brummel. L. C Romney and Warren White, city parks commisioners, accompanied accom-panied by D. James Cannon of the Sugar House chamber of commerce, com-merce, looked over the old Sufrar House park area, which will soon be converted into an employee parking lot, Wednesday afternoon. The commissioners said they would send the city equipment to grade and gravel the area for the parking lot. |
