Show S. L. Dentists Elect Dr. Funk Dr. Marcus C. Funk, 1970 So. 9th East, well-known southeast dentist, Tuesday was elected president of the Salt Lake City District Dental Society. Election was held Tuesday evening at the Newhouse Motel at the conclusion conclu-sion of the society's annual meeting. Other officers elected: Dr. Keneth L. Swenson, professor of prosthetic dentistry, University of Oregon and author of a standard dental textbook. "The use of plastic artificial teeth is growing," Dr. Swenson said. "There is less breakage than among porcelain teeth and there is a cushion effect in biting bit-ing that makes them desirable." Dr. Swenson said plastic teeth were developed in Germany in 1938.
