Show S. H. Police Have Quiet Month "A nice, quiet month . . . just the way we like it!" exclaimed Lt. Charles J. Larson, commanding officer of the Sugar House Police reviewing local police business for June. A partial record of the file of "stingers" (complaint reports of the Salt Lake City Police handled by local officers) reveals some eye-opening information as to what a policeman's idea of a "quiet fight, firecrackers, kids destroying destroy-ing plants and flowers, stolen row boat, window peeper, boys kicking over garbage cans, lost kid, road blocked by children, burglary (kids aged 5), family fight, ADT burglar alarm (false), dog run over, family fight, burglary, bur-glary, drunk, boys' baseball in street, barking dog, theft of two bicycles, house prowler. Disturbing the peace, car strip, street block, two-car accident, acci-dent, drunk, irrigation ditch flooding property, kids destroying destroy-ing property, attempt rape, stripping car, suspicious character, char-acter, family fight, burglary, lost child, fire, kids playing in street, disturbing peace, suspicious man hanging around house, family fight, giggling all night in back yard, burglary, two men counting lots of money (contractor (contrac-tor paying off help), kids on roof of house, reckless driving, improper im-proper parking, broken nose, scattering paper in front of month" actually is.
