Show 'accident victims are laid to resh Many Pay Respects lo lier-nardo lier-nardo Bowman, Former Young Footfall Star (Special to the Herald) KAXAB, August 0. The largest funeral cortage ever seen here cs- corted the body of Bernardo Bowman, Bow-man, who was accidentally killed in the Kailmb forest on July 30, to its grave in the Kanab cemetery. Funeral services were held Sunday Sun-day for Bowman and Othello 1. Adams, the young boy who was also killed iir the accident, in the Kauab ward chapel with the house crowded crowd-ed to its capacity. The speakers were President Holier J. Meeks, Bishop Carroll of Ordervillc, Douglas Doug-las Todd of Pangnitch, President V. W. Seegmiller, and J. W. Nixon of Provo. Bowman was a graduate of the Young university this summer and was one of the best known football men at the Instiition during the past four years, lie was engaged to coach the Pangnitch high school teams next year. The accident occured when the large government trucks used fur hauling water and driven by Bowman Bow-man overturned and pinned bolh of the young men between it and a large pine tree. Ray Woolley happened along immediately im-mediately after the acHdent. and with the aid of the road construction construc-tion gang working nearby released the bmlies. Bowman was a 1 ready ilead while the Adams tny died in a few hours. Adams, who was lo years of age. had been in the Kaibati forest catching fawns to raise and si'll to procure money so t bat. he could attend high school next year. |
