Show Art School Exhausts Big Paint Supply ASPEN GROVE, Aug. 4. The tube paint supply in Utah, in some colors, especially in white, has run on-t. The art school conducted here by the Brigham Young university has used so much paint that the Provo supply has long since been exhausted ex-hausted and report has it that there is no more paint to be had in Salt Lake City. Telegrams have been sent east and west In ordr that the artists may not be held up on account ac-count of lack of paint. Thirty or forty artists painting two fair sized canvases a day use a tremendous amount of paint, Professor Pro-fessor Randolph declares. "Of course all of our pictures are not going to he masterpieces" Lee F. Randolph said, in commenting upon the number of pictures painted. paint-ed. "If we get one excellent picture pic-ture out of ten we shall be doing extremely ex-tremely well. It is so easy, for a picture pic-ture to be over-worked that It . is marvelous that painters do so many really good ones." The art work at present is all pointing to Sunday, August 16, when the grand exhibition of all worthy pictures will be held. During the day, Professor Randolph will give one or more talks on art appreciation apprecia-tion and art criticism. He is. well prepared for this particular task since he has acted on art juries of some of the large exhibits. |
