Show Sheriff J. D. Boyd Leaves Wednesday to Bring Jones Back to Provo, Where He , is Wanted for Desertion. PROVO GIRL WITH JONES IN CALGARY Byron D. Jones, former principal pf the Franklin school, prominent in school and music circles of Provo for several years was arrested in. Galgary, Canada, Monday, according to telegraphic advice reaching Sheriff J. D. Boyd from W.. A. Nutt, acting constable of the Canadaian city. Jones is held in the jail at Calgary and will be brought to Provo by Sheriff J. D. Boyd who will leave Salt Lake City Wednesday. The charge on which Jones is being held is that of deserting his wife and smaller children. Since he left Provo a second daughter; has been born him. According to the telegram sent from Calgary by Constable Con-stable Nutt, Miss Jessica Whitehead, former teacher at the Franklin school, was with Jones at the time of the arrest. The telegram states that Jones and Miss Whitehead were married two months ago in Butte, Montana. In answer to a telegram senc him from the Evening Herald this morning, County Clerk J. F. DriscolL of Butte, Montana, wired the following answer: "License issued on May 2G, 1925 to Byron D. Jones and Jessco Whitehead. Jones stated that he had not been previously married. Both gav their residences as Butte, Montana. Judge William E. Carro performed the ceremony." Jones will be brought to Frovo to answer to the desertion charge only, according to officers since that is the only charge preferred against him here. It is understood that he may later be taken to Butte to be tried on a bigamy charge.
