The couple left this week on a few days wedding trip and upon their return plan to make their home in Provo. A marriage of interest to friends and relatives here is that of Phyllis Phy-llis Smart, daughter of Mrs. H. Ralph Smart of this city, and Ralph R. Olsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ole E. Olsen of Provo, which took place Monday evening in the Salt Lake temple. Accompanying the young couple through the temple were thirteen members of the two immediate families. Honoring the young couple, a wedding reception was given Tuesday Tues-day evening at the home of the bride's mother, at which- approximately approxi-mately 200 relatives and close friends were guests. The bride chose for her wedding wed-ding gown a beautiful brocaded frieze with tight bodice and sweetheart sweet-heart neckline and a row of tiny white buttons down the front. Her veil was of bride's illusion caught to her head with a wreath of orange blossoms which were worn by her grandmother more than 50 years ago. Her bouquet was of white orchids, gardenias and ste-phanotis ste-phanotis tied with orchid velvet ribbon. j Mrs. Kay Johnson, sister of the bride, was matron of honor at the ' reception, and LaRae Thorpe was maid of honor. Velma Olsen, Day-ma Day-ma Grant, Mildred Parry of Springville, and Gloria Tanner of Provo, were bridesmaids. The latter lat-ter were charmingly attired in for-mals for-mals of pale blue of similar design with tight brocaded bodice and full chiffon skirts. They carried nosegays nose-gays of orchid-colored gladioli and gardenias. LeRoy Olsen was best man and the receiving line also included Mrs. Smart and Mr. and Mrs. Olsen, Ol-sen, parents of the bride and groom. Kay Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Marcellus Nielson, Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Thorpe, Marion Olsen and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Sumsion were acting hosts and hostesses, and assisted in receiving the guests. In charge of the serving were members of the Val Norn social unit of B. Y. U. and the White Keys, honorary service unit. In the gift room were Mrs. Ardith Nielson, Niel-son, Mrs. Bertha Nielson, Mabel Olsen and Mrs. Marion Olsen of Provo. The Val Norns sang their "Sweetheart Song" and gave the bride an electric clock. A profusion of lovely autumn flowers with white gladioli and white asters predominating and flanked on either side with tall white tapers In crystal candelabra, formed an attractive background |
