Beesley and Marva Bird were united in chapel rites performed in the Second-Eighth ward last Wednesday. Bishop Ruel E. Crandall officiated. In attendance at the ceremony were family members and close friends of the young couple including in-cluding the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Russen Bird, Springville, and Mr. and Mrs. Clay Beesley, Mapleton. Candelabra and flowers formed a background for the bridal party. Immediately following the ceremony cere-mony the couple, received best wishes from their relatives and friends at a wedding reception. Greeting the guests were Mrs. William Wil-liam H. Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Joy Nielson, and Arvil Bird. Mrs. Taylor Tay-lor Beesley was at the guest book. The bride wore a pink embroidered embroi-dered nylon tulle over satin wedding wed-ding dress. Fashioned by her mother, moth-er, the dress was detailed with a tiny collar beaded with seed pearls, pointed bodice and sleeves, and full-length skirt. A tiny matching cap of the same material, touched with seed pearls, held her veil. She carried a bouquet of orchids with feathered carnations from which fell lavender streamers. Curtis, wore rose. They all carried colonial bouquets. Also dressed in orchid were little Lorna Bird, Susan and Christie Condie. flower girls. They carried baskets of daisies. Mrs. Bird wore a pink linen suit and Mrs. Beesley a beige suit. Their corsages were of Vanda orchids or-chids and carnations,. Best man duties were performed by Taylor Beesley. Musical interludes during the reception were furnished by a string trio comprising Betty Hoover, Hoov-er, Ann Johnson, and Jane Harrison Harri-son Additional music included vocal vo-cal solos by Edna Nielson, violin vio-lin selections ty Mrs. Lewis Bird, accompanied by Mrs. Maurice Bird- and dances by Diane Allred and Roslyn Maycock, accompanied by Mrs. LaCelle Sumsion. In the gift room were Mary Mar-tindale, Mar-tindale, Mary Jane Horton, Marilyn Mari-lyn Clegg, Janet Snelson, Helen Johnson, and LuDean Pyper Ronald Ron-ald and Steven Bird were giftbear- Pink and lavender petunias in circular vases and pink candles ringed the hall. Focal point in the serving rooms, however, was the tiered wedding cake on which stood a heart pierced by an arrow ar-row Wedding bells circled the base of the cake, which stood on a lace covered table. Refreshments were served by Patsv Warren, Paula Haymond, Karen Cook, Mary Jo Gividen, Barbara Bar-bara Hall, Janet Holley, and Leah Reynolds. The young couple will make their home in Springville this fall while the bridegroom attends Bingham Bing-ham Young University and the new Mrs. Beesley resumes her work at a Provo bank. |
