Show Erma Holley Weds Robert Sayer In Salt Lake Temple Monday Miss Erma Holley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Holley of Mapleton, became the bride of Robert Ro-bert Sayer, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Sayer of Idaho Falls, Monday, Mon-day, October 7, in the Salt Lake temple, with Joseph Christensen officiating. Immediately following the ceremony cere-mony twelve close friends and relatives honored the young couple at a dinner at the Hotel Utah. In honor of the bride, Mrs. Rita Hansen of Spanish Fork entertained enter-tained at her home Thursday night. The program featured a review re-view of the book, "My Sweetheart," Sweet-heart," by Bud Evans, and Glen and Harold Holley favored with I vocal selections. Refreshments ' were served in conclusion. During the evening the guest of honor was the recipient of many lovely gifts. Mr. Sayer is a graduate of the Brigham Young university, and the bride also attended B. Y. U. They will make their home in Idaho Falls. CULTUltAI ARTS CLUB ENTERTAINS SPONSOR A delightful program and social were enjoyed on Wednesday evening eve-ning when members of the Cultural Cul-tural Arts club, Springville Junior Federated club, entertained members mem-bers of the Home Culture club, their sponsors, at the home oi President Delia Baxter. Miss Baxter presided during the evening and the secretaries Introduced Intro-duced members of the clubs. Featuring Fea-turing the evening's program was a review of the play, "On Borrow ed Time," given in a delightfu manner by Mrs. Sterling Ercan brack of Provo. Miss Elaine Crandall also gave a poem and the Misses Margare and Naomi Peirce and Rober Peirce entertained with a voca trio. MOTHERS' STUDY CLUB ENTERTAINED Mrs. Eliza Russell was hostess to members of the Mothers' Study club Friday, October 4, at her home. Hugh Baxter, high school faculty fac-ulty member, gave a talk on "The Attitude of Our Nations Toward the Crisis of the World." Four high school students also gave talks on similar subjects as follows: fol-lows: Reed BrocKbank, "England Faces the Crisis"; Marjorie Sim-kins, Sim-kins, "Japan Attempts to Get Supremacy Su-premacy In the Far East"; Catherine Cath-erine Holley, "Is the Thought of a Nazi Attack a Myth or a Reality?"; Re-ality?"; Mark Eddington, "The National Defense." Other program numbers were two readings by Lois Hansen and vocal selections by Hannah Rowland, Row-land, accompanied by Belle Thomas. Refreshments were served in conclusion to eighteen club members mem-bers and guests. The next club meeting will be held October 18 at the home of Mrs. Maud Peterson. MARCHBANKS-WEIGHT ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED Mr. and Mrs. Leo Marchbanks of Mapleton wish to announce the engagement of their daughter. Miss Nona Marchbanks, to W. Ross Weight, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hen-ry M. Weight of this city, the marriage mar-riage to take place on Saturday, October 12. Honoring the young couple, a number ot parties are being given giv-en this week. LELA RAE THORPE FETED AT BIRTHDAY PARTY Miss Lela Rae Thorpe was guest of honor at a birthday party Friday Fri-day night at her home. During the evening miscellaneous miscellan-eous games were played, after which a delicious luncheon was served. A beautiful pink and green birthday cake with candles was the central decorative piece on the table. Approximately twenty - five friends presented Miss Thorpe with many lovely gifts. LES VIVANTES FETE BRIDE AT PARTY Miss Evelyn Davis was guest of honor at a bride's party given by members of Les Vivantes club Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Jay Averett, with Mrs. Carlos Hjorth acting as hostess. During the evening games were played, and in conclusion refreshments refresh-ments were served to thirteen guests. Many lovely gifts were received by the guest of honor. PARANADA CLUB ENTERTAINED AT PROVO Miss Lois Hales was hostess to members of the Paranada club Monday evening at the Edna Mae Hedquist home in Provo. Dinner was served early in the evening at one long table centered with marigolds and orange and green tapers burned in crystal cadelabra at either end. Carrying out the fall motif according to an orange color scheme, fall leaves were arranged, in artistic design on the table and throughout the entertaining rooms. Vases of roses and marigolds were also arranged about the rooms. Feature of the program was a review of the book, "Demon Daughter," by Honore Morrow, given in an interesting manner by Mrs. Mae Huntington. ! Draw prizes were won by Mrs. Huntington and Miss Lillian Hol-lingshead. Hol-lingshead. ! Members present were Tonie . DAVID REESE HOSTESS ( TO ALPHA BETA CLUB , Members of the Alpha Beta club were entertained Friday, October ' 4, at the home of Mrs. David Reece. Program feature was a very interesting in-teresting talk by Hermese Peterson Peter-son on her tour of Europe. She gave a brief review of her exper-Tences exper-Tences and observations while in Rio de Janeiro, Isle of Tristan de Cunha, Rome. Paris, Africa, the Nile, Mediterranean, and other places of interest, with special i emphasis on Russia. Other program numbers were i two vocal selections and two readings. In conclusion luncheon was . served to approximately twenty members and guests. The next meeting of the club ; will be held Friday, October 18, at the home of Mrs. Carl O. Nelson. Nel-son.
