Show Local Couple Celebrate Golden Wedding Mr. and Mrs. George Weight were honored by their sons and daughters at a family party at their residence Saturday evening, in observance of the fiftieth anniversary anni-versary of their marriage. A nicely arranged plate lunch was served early in the evening, and was followed by a program by family members. DeVere Weight, Norma Weight and Eldean Weight each entertained entertain-ed with vocal solos. Marcile and Marva Waters gave a vocal duet, and Mr. and Mrs. Carol Waters a vocal duet. A clever original skit was presented by Mr. and Mrs. Don Stevens of Salt Lake City, in which they presented Mrs. Weight with an anniversary ring. There were readings by Verl Weight and Woodrow Weight, and a duet by Mr. and Mrs. William Gunn of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Leo Weight was accompanist. The group also enjoyed en-joyed community singing. A delightful feature of the party was the presentation of a number of lovely gifts to the couple from their sons, daughters, and grandchildren, grand-children, the presentations being made by the grandchildren. Just before the gifts were opened, they were also presented with a beautiful beau-tiful three-tiered wedding cake holding fifty candles. Attending the party were Mr. and Mrs. G. Fred Weight, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Weight, Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Weight, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Don-ald Stevens, Mr. and Mrs. William Gunn, Mr. and Mrs. Carol Waters, and Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Weight and their families. During the afternoon, refreshments refresh-ments were served from a beautifully beauti-fully decorated dining table centered center-ed with tall golden tapers in crystal crys-tal holders. Lenore Weight poured and serving serv-ing were Norma Weight, Marcile Waters and Marva Waters. The honored couple were recipients reci-pients during the afternoon of a number of lovely gifts. |
