M.-M- ON-, c Pro football at August 16 Four alums of Utah college football tilts will be on pro football rosters when the San Francisci 49ers and the St. Louis Football Cardinals clash in Ute Stadium, University of Utah, on Aug. 16. The former Utah grid greats are Clark Miller and Ed Pine, both with the 49ers; Larry Wilson, veteran defensive half-back for the Cardinals form-erly at the University of Utah and Claron Bailey, University of Utah, who is listed on the Cardinal's rookie roster this year. Miller, who completed his contract in June, gained a berth with the 49ers in 1962 from Utah State University. Ed Pine, who was among the top nominees as the National Football League "Rookie of the Year" is a graduate of the University of Utah. The pre-seaso- n pro-footb-tilt at Ute Stadium on Aug. 16, is jointly sponsored by the Bleacher Quarterbacks, the Salt Lake City Junior Cham-ber of Commerce and the Salt Lake Tribune. Tickets are available at the University of Utah athletic ticket office, the Mint Cafe, Salt Lake City; and at the ticket sales booth in1 the Tri-bune Building, after Aug. 1. For the San Francisco 49ers the Aug. 16 game in Ute Sta-dium will be the second of the n schedule, while the St. Louis Football Cardinals will be making their 1963 pro-fessional football debut. Students finish tennis lessons; 77 participate Approximately 77 students, boys and girls, between the ages of 9-- have been taking tennis lessons under the city recreation program, announces Walter Reid, instructor. These represent first and second year students. The teams who have com-peted in the summer program include cities of Lehi, Ameri-can Fork, Provo, Orem, Manti and Springville. Although the Springville team has not won all its games, they have made a com-mendable showing considering the team is young and some-what lacking in experience. A more successful year is antici-pated next year, Coach Reid pointed out. It is planned to have two age groups next year, the 12-1- 8 group and the 12-1- 4 year group, or little league team for the latter. I &ouing.
