Show WLC of county invites ladies to join group Are you a woman who is interested in legislation which affects your home and family? Are you concerned with the health, education, and welfare of Utah's citizens, especially its children? What are your feelings about present court procedures and laws? Do ways, means, and extent of taxation give you cause for consideration? considera-tion? If you are interested and concerned then Mrs. Douglas C. Smith, president of the Women's Wo-men's Legislative Council of Utah County, on behalf of the Council Executive Board, extends ex-tends a special invitation at this time for you to become affiliated af-filiated with the county organization. organ-ization. The Women's Legislat i v e Council of Utah County has as its objects the consideration and study of civic subjects for the purpose of influencing and bringing to fruition beneficial legislation in the State of Utah. Its policy is non-partisan and non sectarian. Such organizations as PTA, Relief Societies and women's clubs, are given special invitation invi-tation to send delegates. However, How-ever, any women's organization with twenty or more members, or a fluctuating membership near twenty, which is interested interes-ted in the objectives of the Council is entitled to three voting vot-ing delegates. Also, any woman wo-man who is a citizen of Utah and who represents no group or organization, but who is interested in-terested in the purpose for which the council exists may become a non-voting associate member. In the case of club delegates the club may pay the dues. Associate members pay their own dues, may not vote nor be elected to office, although they may be appointed to office. Dues are $2 in advance or at the first regular October meeting of the biennium. They may be sent to the council treasurer, Mrs. Boyd Smuin, 149 South First West, Lehi. also win trips to national and state events. The 4-H movement began more than 50 years ago and through the years has been a means of teaching young people peo-ple to "learn by doing," 4-H is for boys and girls who want to go places and do things. The program helps young people peo-ple to grow into useful citizens, it is pointed out. |
