Show Funeral rites held for Berthena Childs Funeral services were conducted con-ducted Wednesday at Wheeler Mortuary for L. Berthena Childs, 82, retired school teacher, tea-cher, who died Sunday, May 30, 1965, at Eldred Hospital, following an illness. Bishop David Gledhill of the First Ward, presided at the services. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery. Miss Childs was born Feb. 10, 1883 in Springville, a daughter of Archibald Orlo and Harriett Ann Buraston Childs. She graduated from Springville High School and Brigham Young University. Prior to 1912 she taught school in Springville and Provo and for many years was art teacher at Lincoln Junior High School in Salt Lake City. Active Ac-tive in LDS Church work, she fulfilled a mission in Northwestern North-western (States and also completed com-pleted two stake missions in Salt Lake City. She was an ardent temple worker in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, and was a member of the Sunday School board of the old Utah Stake. She also taught Sunday School and Relief (Society. Surviving are a brother and five sisters: Lewis B. Childs, Miss Myrtle Childs and Mrs. Emma Beardall of Springville; Mrs. Blanche Jansen and Mrs. Jennie Stephens of Ogden, and Mrs. Norma Snow of Provo. |
