He stated that the greatest degree of pollution existed in the Provo bay region and stated that this was a case of "extreme, gross pollution !'J which is a menace to the health of "S the surrounding commuities." 7 In his report, Dr. Anderson ' showed what was being done else where in the nation where similar problems exist and then presented the case from a Utah county ( !; standpoint. " - Suggested at the meeting was :ri!.' a three-point program for aiding the situation. It was also suggested that the group inTCstigate all the alternate methods of taking care of the problem that would be available so that the best system could be found that would fit into the general gen-eral county pattern of planning. Third suggestion was the possibility possi-bility of combining treatment plants to serve two or more com-miunities com-miunities so as to save construc-."s construc-."s tion and maintenance costs and at the same time serve the communities com-munities in the best way possible. Purpose of this study after completion com-pletion would be to serve as a guide for various cities in planning plan-ning the various type of treatment works to be installed so that each community- can be best served. |
