: rl. I John II. Whiting Funeral Services Held Wednesday For John Whiting Funeral services were held Wednesday Wed-nesday at 2 p.m. in the Fourth-Seventh Fourth-Seventh ward chapel for John H. Whiting, 74. who died Sunday evening at the family home after a short illness. Bishop Glen Tipton Tip-ton of the Fourth ward officiated. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery. ceme-tery. John Whiting was born August 7. 1SS1 in Springville, the son of William E. and Mary Hall Whit- ing. He married Mary Ellen Clegg February 25, 1903. in Springville. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. For a period of eight years they lived in Richfield. Ida,, returning to Springville in 1918 where they have since lived. He had been a farmer and livestock raiser all of his life. He was a member of the old folks committee and the Black Hawk committee. He also served as a Springville City councilman for two terms. He was a member of the LDS church, holding the office of Elder. Survivors include his widow and six children: Jesse H. Whiting and Mrs. Howard (Mary) Sanford of Springville; Mark and Jack Whiting Whit-ing of Las Vegas, Nev.; Ray Whiting Whit-ing of Ogden; and Mrs. Frank (Marjorie) Fuljmer of Blackfoot, Ida.; also 25 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
