Two Jacks staff is made up of mostly teenagers. "We hire mostly teenagers; they're just a lot of fun. They keep me young. They have a lot of energy and most of them it's their first job," said Gathercoal. "We feel a responsibility to teach them how to be an employee. We teach them to work hard, not to just sit around." The bathroom is cleaned every day. "With my experience in restaurants with dirty bathrooms, it makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like," said Gathercoal. Jack, Jr. now runs the restaurant with help from his father. He was 12 when the first store opened and will continue to work at and run Two Jacks. Working together as father and son. they get along really well. They plan on keeping it in the family for as long as possible, and there are a lot of grandkids who may eventually end up working at Two Jacks. |
