Courtesy photo; AFTER HOURS: East Meadows Elementary students don't just work hard during school, but they keep on going after school too and so do the teachers. For the last 10 weeks students have been able spend time after school participating in school clubs taught by East Meadows Teachers. They offered many clubs for students to choose from, which included Drama, Singing, Science, Art, Stitching, Jump Rope, Chess, and Origami. The last day of clubs was also the After-School Celebration where students invited their parents to show off what they had ; learned. Foothills Brockbank JONNY APPLESEED: After learning and reading fairy tales, fables and tall tales, the kindergarten students at Foothills Elementary were surprised with a visit from Johnny Appleseed. He told the children how he came to love the apple and how it has afftected his life. He also told them about how some of the "tall tales" came about about him. School qualifiers from the fifth/sixth grade division were Brock Nelson (sixth-grade) and Katelyn Rigtrup (sixth-grade); third/fourth grade qualifiers were Briggs Newman (third-grade) and Kaylee Hudson (fourth-grade). Kaylee Hudson placed first in the third/fourth girls division at the city competition. Brock Nelson and Briggs Newman each took third place for the boys in their divisions.
