Show Social SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS WEDNESDAY APRIL 18, 2001 Adventures of the Tanglefoot Square Dancers Kanab and Kaibab Stake Relief Society Humanitarian Projects 2001 On Saturday, April 21, 2001 from 10:00 to 2:00, at the Kaibab Stake Center, the Kanab and Kaibab Stake Relief Society will be hosting a Super Saturday for their Humanitarian Projects 2001. They will make items for suffering children around the world. Bring any of the following items that you may have: sack lunch or snack for yourself, scissors, colorful cotton broadcloth, plain colored (sizes heavy white or print flannel, elastic for waist bands, long shoe laces, yarn scraps, plastic canvas, batting to stuff small toy balls, and fleece (even small pieces). The first few miles along Highway 14 the road was slushy, yet an attitude of merriment filled the van. About a third of the way over the mountain the laughter within the vehicle suddenly ceased as an intense tension gripped the occupants. A couple ofmiles further along the road the van slipped into the snowbank on the left. Again the brawn of man pushed the van from the bank. Although the road presented treacherous driving for many miles, in time the vehicle emerged from the canyon with no further incidents. Fun and frivolity returned as quickly as it had vanished. Supper at the Stockyards was tasty, and gave the group a chance to relax from the harrowing experience that had occupied their attention the previous hour. Upon arrival at the dance hall, the happy troupe joined in with the Hey Cedars Dance Club for an evening of square dancing under the direction of their out- standing caller Ralph Rawlinson. With two squares and an extra couple or two, those brave, fearless Tanglefoot Square Dancers, who faced unbeatable odds, conquered the adversity of mother nature, and refused to accept defeat, sur- vived to enjoy an evening saturated with tremendous fun, social ability, and the hospitality duced visibility to less than a of the Hey Cedars.
