A TOTAL of $10,354.S1 worth of war savings and thrift stamps was sold In Salt Lake yesterday by the pretty young women who volunteered their services for a day to Uncle Sam to aid In his great campaign to raise a f 2.000.000.000 war loan by the tale of savings stamps. The young women, mostly from the Mountain States Telephone & Telegraph company business department, conducted stamp booths in Iho various banks and leading department stores of the cily during dur-ing tlie day and. though their time for sales was limited, they made an excellent showing, according lo the ideas of the city committee and U. C. Campbell, who had the special drive of yesterday in charge. Miss Ohio Goodell and Miss Gertrude Pehotler, who liad charge of the booth at the National Copper bank, carried off the honors of tho day for total sales with a grand total of ?3S00 worth of stamps. Miss Libble Sutton and Miss Marie Lusty, who were at the Utah f tato National Na-tional bank, scored a total of 51T",0, and they were the first young women to reach the $1000 mark, reporting sales to J this amount before noon yesterday. j Miss Arhne Ridges and Miss Edith Zackrison. who wore at the M'Torni'-k ba.hk, made a record of $1305.43 worth of sales.
