springing up as if by magic it is while still in its embryo state budding into a town of factories and becoming a commercial center and distributing point tor for jobbing houses some might be mentioned as going from salt lake but being foreign to the mining and kindred interests they will be passed what the mining review desires to speak of in particular is a new manufacturing institution of direct concern to the mining and milling interests of our sister state we refer to the establishment of the nampa foundry and machine works ltd of which the accompanying illustration hardly conveys a correct understanding of its size and importance the company is a comparatively new one having been formed only last year and is barely getting to work in the several branches of its business its president mr A R moore is formerly from chicago and was later associated socia ted with the capital foundry at boise of which he was the mechanical head three years ago his foresight lead him to change his location and find a more desirable railroad center in the little town of 0 nampa to which place he moved and established himself in a small way at the beginning and at once commenced to grow and expand with the result that he subsequently organized the present company last december associating with him as secretary E F stuart for a long time mechanical engineer for the trade dollar con mining company at silver city and fred G mock local banker as treasurer of the company mr stuart at once resigned his position with the trade dollar and turned his attention entirely to the work of the new company of which he became a member the establishment is one wherein drawings may be designed patterns made machinery or pieces thereof cast and the cast ings turned and worked to the finished product in the shortest possible space of time the factory and its importance may be better understood when it is raid ald that twenty experienced and proficient mechanics find employment in this who are of the best and receive the highest salary as a consequence three of these men med are engaged in the pattern maaring department more are employed in tho the ironwork iron work 7 4 at RM
