Show THE ADDIE MILL STARTS after the long and vexatious delays in procuring some of the electric appliances required in the transformer house the new mill of the addle addie gold mining milling company was started last saturday night and has since been running as smoothly as the manager of the mines and mechanics who have charge of its construction could expect but very slight changes and adjustments just ments have had to be made the mill is located so nearly at the mouth of the adit tunnel through which the companas comp anys mines are worked that a short covered tramway brings the ore to a grizzly and rock breaker directly from the in the mines from the rock breakers and chute beneath the grizzly the ore is dropped to an automatic feeder and fed into a battery of five heavy stamps whence the pulp runs over copper plates on to two banners and from thence to an amalgamating pan and settler it is all a down hill pull from the time the ore is dumped into the mill from the mine cars and requires the least amount of work possible from the mill attendants A westinghouse dynamo placed in a small room adjoining the battery and supplied with power from a transformer house set on the hillside a few feet above the milland mill sand connected with the swans fall electric power line supplies the power to turn all the machinery A small steam heater consuming about as much fuel as a good sized heating stove supplies the amalgamating pan and all other uses for which heat is required an abundance of water for the battery concentrators and pans is piped into the mill from the stream running down the gulch at present the mill is treating about twelve tons of ore per day no effort is being made to show a big production on the start by working the higher grade ore of the mines no cleanup clean up has been made as yet even from the copper plates and as yet only the assays essays from the ore and tailings give an intimation of results which reports say are quite good the plan for this mill was entirely drawn by mr A F stevens and the work of construction st was all carried on under mider the supervision of mr charles B E knapp both of these gentlemen ire are to be complimented for the perfection of their wo work rk nugget silv silver r nugget |
