According to Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Ken Bryant, the Harward car, driven by; Mrs. Harwaids daughter, Tammie, 16, was northbound in the left lane when another northbound vehicle driven by Leland Von DeMille, 56, St. George, crossed to the left lane, sideswiping the Harward car. The Harward car rolled, throwing Mrs. Harward out of the car. Both Harwards were taken to Dixie Medical Center, where Mrs. Harward underwent surgery on her leg. Darrel Hintze, mineral specialist for the Forest Service in Richfield, said it would be at least two weeks before any decision is made for or against closing the road. Ross said he told the posse meeting that a police officer told him that he heard Weaver talking about the matter in a coffee shop one day. Glen said he felt the most beneficial workshops were those dealing with evaluating what the qualities of a leader should be. The North Sevier delegates talked with Congressman Dan Marriott for about five minutes during one of the breaks. They also visited the National Future Farmers of America Center. While there, the North Sevier representatives got officials to fly a United States flag over the capitol building on Aug. 19, the day of the new high schools dedication. The flag will then be sent to the North Sevier FFA chapter president, Brenda Crane. |
