Duchesne, Du-chesne, were married at Vernal, Monday, March 8. Miss Gardner was a last year graduate of Union High, and attended the USAC until Christmas this year. j COUPLE SURPRISED AT BIRTHDAY PARTY The officers of the M.I.A. staged a surprise party for Mr. ' and Mrs. Ned Gines at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Frandsen on Monday evening, March 8. There were twenty-eight twenty-eight in attendance, all Mutual workers and their partners and the Bishopric and theirs.' The occasion was the birthdays of Mr. and Mrs. Gines. Games were played and delicious refreshments re-freshments were served. All there voted it a successful party. par-ty. Jesse Hullinger and daughters left Friday afternoon for Lewis-ton, Lewis-ton, Idaho, to get Mrs. Hullinger Hullin-ger and two small children, who have been there a while, and to get acquainted with the new son of Mr. and Mrs. Kent Gneitting. The 8th grade students at Alterra took their play to Roosevelt Roos-evelt Friday afternoon and presented pre-sented it at the Junior High School. Clarence Betts, who has had employment at Soldier Summit, Sum-mit, in Carbon County, is now at home. Acel Bingham, of Salt Lake City, his daughter, Mrs. Beatrice Bea-trice Dennis, of Myton; Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Young, of Altamont, and Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Goodrich, Good-rich, of Roosevelt, were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bingham on Monday, March 8th. Mrs. Elwin Hycock, Mrs. Dorothy HacheJ and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hammond and children, chil-dren, nieces of Mrs. Wm. Jenkins, Jen-kins, visited with her over the weekend. Word was received that Mr. and Mrs. V. T. Rice, of Bountiful, Bounti-ful, are the proud grandparents of a baby boy. born to Mr. and Mrs. Glen (Bud) Rice, at the Naval Air Station, Whidley Island, Is-land, Washington. Glen is stationed sta-tioned there as a dental tech- nician. The Rice's were former residents of Alterra and were former school teachers of the Basin. Mr. and Mrs. Wendel Johnson attended a party at Union High School for the faculty and their partners last Wednesday evening. eve-ning. MADE A QUILT The following ladies met in Relief Society on Tuesday, Mar. 9th and made a quilt: Mrs. Barta Jenkins, Inez Squire, Fannie Fan-nie Todd, Vida Betts, Maude Anderson and Florell Collins. They enjoyed a poMuck lunch at noon. Other ladies joined the group in the afternoon. Mr. and Mrs! Leslie Collins and daughter, of Salt Lake City visited in Ballard last weekend and took Mrs. Mary (Grandma) Collins to their home for a visit. vis-it. ' Mrs. LaMont Nielson of Roosevelt, Roos-evelt, and Seth Asay, of Ballard, Bal-lard, were visitors at Ballard Sunday School, Sunday morning morn-ing as members of the Sunday School stake board. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Jenkins Jen-kins are the proud parents of a baby girl, born at the Roosevelt Roose-velt Hospital, Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. George Bracken were dinner guests at the home of Mr. Bracken's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Rust, at Altamont, on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Neilson and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Jensen and son, and Mrs. Zina Johnston, of Salt Lake Oity, were weekend visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Seth Asay. TO MOVE FAMILY Word has been received from Mrs. David Lundberg- at Lusk, Wyoming that she has rented a house and would soon move the family up where Mr. Lundberg has employment. |
