Show SOCIETY" Dean-Hancock Marriage Announced On Sunday evening Miss Elizabeth Eliza-beth Dean and William Dever Hancock were united in marriage marri-age at the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. Frank A. Morrell, in Duchesne. The double ring ceremony cer-emony was solemnized by Bishop Bish-op Todd of Duchesne and attended attend-ed by members of the immediate families. The bride was charming in a gown of white marquisette and satin. Her fingertip veil of filmy fil-my French illusion cascaded from a tiara of pearls and orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of gardenias and white gladioli. The new Mrs. Hancock was attended at-tended by Mrs. Frank A. Morrell as matron of honor, who was . gowned in pink satm and net with a corsage of gardenias and pink rose buds. Attending Matron, Mat-ron, Mrs. Clyde Howclls, of My-ton, My-ton, and bridesmaids, Miss Louise Lou-ise Hall and Miss Dorothy Mis-rasi, Mis-rasi, of Salt Lake City, wore gowns of blue. Bridesmaid Miss Darlene Dean, of Myton, was gowned in pink. All attendants wore corsages of gardenias and pink rose buds. The mothers Of the bride and bridegroom wore corsages of corona gladoli. Mr. Forrest Hancock, of Myton, brother of the bridegroom, acted as best man. 1 The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Darrell S, Dean of Myton My-ton and is a graduate of the Roosevelt Roos-evelt high school. For the past three years she has resided in California and Salt Lake City. The bridegroom, a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Hancock of Pleasant Valley, is also a graduate grad-uate of the Roosevelt high school. He was recently discharged from the Army Immediately after the ceremony the young couple left on a wedding trip to Grand Can yon National Park. Out of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. Alan Lloyd and family, of Taft, California; Mrs. Elizabeth Christensen, Mr. and Mrs. Wilmont Rasmussen, and Mrs. Dwaine Harper, of Huntington; Hunt-ington; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence N. Dean, of Heber City, and Miss Dorothy Misrasi, Miss Louise Hall and James O. Dean, of Salt Lake City. www Neighborhood Sewing Club Dessert luncheon was featured when Mrs. Clifton Laris entertained enter-tained members of the Neighborhood Neighbor-hood Sewing Club at her residence resi-dence last Wednesday evening, August 14. Her guest list numbered num-bered eight, including Mrs. Art Allen, Mrs. Harold Gardner, Mrs. Floyd Labrum, Mrs. Neldon Nyberg, Mrs. Howard Andrews, Mrs. J. S. Rawlings, Mrs. Parley Rawlings and Mrs. Louis Laris. Just-A-Mere Reva Owen was . hostess to Just-A-Mere Club on Wednesday evening, August 14. Her guests met at Hazel's Ice Cream parlor for refreshments, after which which they adjourned to Mrs. Owen's residence where tables were laid for bridge. Those present pres-ent included Fay White, Jean Labrum, Florence Adams, Veda Labrum, Myrtle Nelson, Tina Wilkins, Dorothy Walker, Dora Larsen, Lora Killian, Edith Larsen and Erma Jensen. Prizes were won by Myrtle Nelson, Jean Labrum, Fay White and Florence Adams. Friday Bridge Mrs. Paul Wilkins was hostess hos-tess to the Friday Bridge club at a delightful party at her home on August 16. A dessert luncheon lunch-eon was served at small tables with covers marked for Mrs. C. L. Ashton, Mrs. Fred Ferron, Mrs. Vcan Bair, Mrs. Eugene Harmston, -Mrs. Jack McLea, Mrs. Howard Harrison, Mrs. R. Q. Warnock and Mrs. Robert Huish. Bridgeiie Mrs. Jack Hoover was hostess to Bridgette at the residence of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Eu-gene Harmston last Thursday evening. Exceptionally lovely bouquets of gladioli and snapdragon snap-dragon adorned the rooms where four tables were arranged for bridge. Surprise Parly There was plenty of fun last Monday evening at the Whitmore Whit-more residence when twelve friends surprised Marilyn Whitmore Whit-more with a pot luck supper. Following supper four tables were arranged for bridge. Atwood-Smith Nuptials Interesting news among friends and relatives, is the announcement an-nouncement of the marriage of Miss Renee Adell Atwood, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Atwood, of Fresno, California, former residents of Roosevelt, and Gordon W. (Dick) Smith, of Bismark, North Dakota, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Smith, formerly of Ft. Duchesne. The young couple were united in a beautiful candlelight ceremony cere-mony performed in Salt Lake City at the home of the bride's aunt, Mrs. Harold Widdeson. Bishop Sabey of the Midvale Second ward, an old family friend, read the. simple double ring ceremony. An enormous fan shaped bouquet bou-quet of peach gladioli and tall candelabra holding peach tapers lormea a beautiful background for the bridal party. For her wedding the bride chose a gown of white satin fashioned with a white lace yoke, fitted bodice and full net overskirt. She wore a fingertip veil of delicate bride's illusion and carried a bouquet of white orchids, gardenias and gladioli. For something old she wore her paternal grandmother's engagement engage-ment ring. Attending her were Mrs. Alora Kolb, matron of honor, and bridesmaids Bette Lou Bond, Mathalyn Atwood, sisters of the bride, and Betty Smith, sister of the bridegroom. All wore floor length gown in pastel colors and carried bouquets of delicately shaded gladioli. i Daniel Crumbo acted as best I man. Ty Kolb, Kenneth Atwood and Harold Widdeson served as ushers. Following the ceremony an informal in-formal reception honored the young couple, who left immed iately thereafter by plane lor Bismark, North Dakota where they will establish their home. Thursday Club Mrs. Orville Dart, of Myton, entertained the Thursday club at her home last week. Tempting light refreshments were served with covers marked for thirteen club members and guests. Special guests included Mrs. E. N. Roberts Rob-erts of San Francisco, California, Califor-nia, Mrs. Mary Walker of Salt Lake City, Mrs. William Jennings Jen-nings and Mrs. Bliss Lott. Mrs. Dart was assisted by her daughter, daugh-ter, Fredericka. Mrs. Foley Honored at Tea A delightful informal tea was featured Monday evening at the Hollis Hullinger residence when Mrs. Hullinger, Mrs. Alma Wills and Mrs. Albert Marchant entertained en-tertained in compliment to Mrs. Mathew Foley, nee' Virginia Hancock, who has recently re-1 turned from a honeymoon trip to Yellowstone Park, Cheyenne and Denver. The house was beautifully decorated dec-orated with bouquels of lovely spring flowers, and the table was daintily arranged with an exquisite ex-quisite lace cloth and a centerpiece center-piece of pink petunias in a low crystal bowl. Delicate pink tapers tap-ers in crystal candelbra lighted the setting. Approximately thirty - five guests called to pay their respects re-spects to the recent bride. The evening was spent in preparing a bride's book. Mrs. John Redmond was in charge of the gifts. |
