A!! red 4 Grows Garden, Rides Eiss Horse BLUEBELL (Special) Henry Dexter Allred of Bluebell observed his 90th birthday on July 24th by celebrating the event at a picnic outing with members of his family. fam-ily. In the evening, the group met to partake of ice cream and a beautifully decorted birthday cake. Mr. Allred was born at Spring City on July 24, 1865, a son of Green Warren and Ama Howes Allred, both early pioneers of Utah. On December 19, 1896, he was married to Louisa Zabriskie Allred at Price. She was a daughter daugh-ter of Lewis Curtis and Sarah Ann Park Zabriskie, early Utah settlers. sett-lers. Mrs. Allred had four children by a former marriage to Mr. All-red's All-red's brother. (Continued from Page One) Of the seven children, two are still living, Mrs. Irving Leonard of Price, and Claud Allred of Bluebell. Upon the death of a daughter in 1920 and of her husband hus-band in 1918, Mr. and Mrs. All-red All-red took into their home the five small orphaned children to raise. Mr. and Mrs. Allred pioneered in Emery and Carbon counties, and in 1907 came to the Uintah Basin, being among the early settlers sett-lers in Bluebell. Mrs. Allred died April 5, 1940. Mr, Allred still -lives, in Bluebell. He is very active and in good health, and is noted for his exceptionally ex-ceptionally fine vegetable garden and beautiful flowers. He is happy when busy, and is never contented' content-ed' with idleness. He still enjoys horseback riding, and can often be seen galloping a spirited pony belonging to some of his great-grandsons. great-grandsons. In addition to his two children, he has 26 grandchildren, 48 greatgrandchildren great-grandchildren and 6 great-greatgrandchildren. |
