Provo, Utah—Page 25 About Nephi: Nephi’s Finances Praised __By MYNNA TRAUNTVEIN _NEPHI — Thefinancial condition of Nephi Cicy has greatly improved in the last twoor three years according to the last financial report received by the city, Earl Andrews of Roberts. Parker and Andrews, a financial advisement firm, prefaced his presentation of the managementletter with « compliment for city officials. He told the mayor and councilmen that he had never seen a community that had made such an improvementin their financial status in the space of three or four years. Oneof the causes for improvementis the new computerized system being used. The new accounting and general a System used in Nephi works so well that it has been picked up by the State legislature and has become the protype of a system whichwill be used by West Jordan, Brigham City, and Tooele. The system which has been developed in the last two years has resulted in a dramatic increase in interest income. Interest income has increased from $4, 781 in fiscal year ended June 30, 1977 to $21,637 in fiscal year ended June 30. 1979.
