Mrs. Mary Cooper gave a very interesting in-teresting lesson at the Social Service Ser-vice meeting in the Manila ward Tuesday. Her subject was "The Change of Objectives in American Schools." Mrs. Rollo Thornton and daughter, daught-er, Luana, accompanied by Mrs. Thornton's mother, Mrs. ,L. J. Hutch-ings, Hutch-ings, and her sister, May Hutchings, spent several days in Salt Lake last week visiting with relatives. Johnson, and on Thursday evening the same ciowd of young folks ' enjoyed a party given by Bryan Fugal, son of Mr. and Mrs. C A. Fugal. Mrs. E. A. Beck entertained Thursday Thurs-day afternoon at a children's party in honor of the 5th birthday of her little son, Earl. Hallowe'en favors were presented to each child. The guests arrived in masks and costumes and enjoyed games until un-til 10:30. The remainder of the evening was spent playing "Cootie," Mrs. Cliff Tomlinson capturing the prize and Mr. Tomlinson receiving the consolation favor. Although the window was large, only two small panes of Class were broken. Camp No. 2 of the Daughters of the Pioneers met on Thursday at the home of Mrs. Hannah Halliday. A fine program was given including the reading of biographie's of Franklin Frank-lin and Elizabeth Beers. Refreshments Refresh-ments were served. Mrs. W. J. The Primary officers of the Lindon ward entertained at a social Monday afternoon 5n honor of Mrs. Jenkins, one of the teachers, who is moving from the ward. Mrs. Jenkins left Tuesday for Wyoming to join her husband there. Mr. and Mrs.. Avery Houston returned re-turned to Salt Lake the first of the week, after visiting relatives here for the past three months. Mr. Houston Hous-ton who is an enlisted soldier, was on a three months furlough. ' Miss Lucy Wadley entertained at a Hallowe'en party Thursday evening even-ing at her home in the Manila ward. The rooms were effectively decorated decorat-ed with jack-o-lanterns, corn shocks and other Hallowe'en motifs. The evening was spent In Hallowe'en games. The guests wore old time costumes and masks.
