Show BUS CARSON, RODEO CLOWN Officers Elected By D. U. P. Ladies The Pleasant Grove Camp of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers held a I meeting at the log cabin Thursday afternoon where they reorganized j the camp. Class Leader Lucille H. ! Walker conducted the meeting. ! County officers present were: : Daughters Baird, Porter and Mad-I Mad-I sen of Provo. The meeting opened with the song "Sunshine In the ! Soul." j Mrs. Porter, county historian and j Mrs. Madsen, county librarian, spoke j telling the need of the children to realize the worth of this organiza-! organiza-! tion and to get information from ; their parents before it is too late. 1 They cautioned them to learn to ap-I ap-I preciate the wonderful record made by the pioneers and what they have I done for the people of this day. Mrs. Baird took charge of the election and the following were ! elected to hold office : Annie Raw- ' I lings Holman, president; first vice ! president, Ellen Stewart Stott; second sec-ond vice president, Pearl Halliday Wadley; secretary and treasurer, Pearl Huntsman Bastian; historian (holdover), Cleone Lund Kirk; registrar, Pearl Radmall West; choirster, Fern Mitchell Hicks; organist, or-ganist, Ruth Armitstead Cobbley; parlimentarlan, Lucille H a r vey Walker; relic committee, Rose B. Hayes, Christena Walker and Annie Holman; county representative, Vida Fage Conway; publicity director, Ethel Hilton Carlson. It was reported that 300 biographies bio-graphies have been placed in a safety safe-ty vault at Salt Lake. Quite a number num-ber more are unrecorded and some not yet given. Words of encouragement were spoken by visitors. Newly elected Captain Holman, gave a short talk. She especially appreciated the splendid splen-did work of Rose Brown Hayes in her untiring help to prepare biographies bio-graphies of our pioneers. Lucille H. Walker also spoke on the need cf getting information while it can be secured. Rose B. Hayes spoke a few minutes. She told of the organization or-ganization of the camp in 1922 and what has been accomplished. Two duets were sung by Mary Hill and Pearl Hicks, "The Little Old Church in the Valley" and "When the Dew is on the Rose". The county outing for Wednesday, June 2nd, at Pioneer Park was announced an-nounced and all encouraged to attend. at-tend. o |
