Show Funeral is Held Last Saturday For Alonzo Ellis - With George Paul of the Third Ward Bishopric in charge, impressive impres-sive funeral services were conducted condu-cted Saturday in the ward Chapel for Alonzo E. Ellis, who died earlier earl-ier in the week at his home. The ,-house was well filled with j relatives and friends who came to offer their last mark of respect j to Mrp Ellis, and express sympathy I for tlie family. Kenneth Shearer, accompanied I by Mrs. Zenith Johson .sang the I opening number. Going Koine , Invocation was offered by Nat. haniel Davidson, a brother-in-law of the departed. Speakers who paid ; tribute to the memory of Mr. Ellis and expressed sympathy for his I family were Albert Anderson, long ; time friend and neighbor, Bishop ' Lewis E. Olpin, and Joseph S. Walker, Musical numbers interspersing the speakers were a vocal duet, Sontimje Wq'H Understand, by Mrs, J. E. Hardman and Mrs, Le-jland Le-jland Beers; a vocal solo "Rock of , Ages, by Mrs. Mae R. Walker, and the closing number Face to Face, 1 by Mrs. Hardman and Mrs. Beers All were accomp'aliied by Mrs, Wilf ord Neves, who also played the prelude and portlude organ music, Benediction was pronounced by Daryl Huish of the ward Bishopric, and the graveside prayer in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery was offered by Arlen Davidson, Pall bearers were Arlen Davidson, David-son, John Peterson, Albert Warbur-ton, Warbur-ton, Martell, Wayne and Delbert Ellis. |
