Show Funeral Services Meld for Annie Smith Hillman Mrs. Annie Smith Hillman, 67, widow of Thunuis Hillman, died at her home here Sunday at 9:45 a, m. of pneumonia. Site had been ill two weeks. Mrs. Hillman was born at Pleasant Grove January 6, 1868, a daughter of Jc?eph D. and Jane Patten Smith. She was married to Mr. Hillman No- vember 3, 1920, and, with the excep- tion of 20 years spent in Mammoth, . had lived here all her life. She was , a .n active member of the L. D. S. ; church and for many years worked with the Primary association. Her ; husband died a year ago. Surviving are three sons, Eugene Hillman of Pa.yson, Edgar A. Hillman, Hill-man, Mammoth, and Guy S. Hillman, Hill-man, Pleasant Grove; a daughter, Mrs. Grace Moore, Angle, Utah; a sister, Mrs. Hattie S. Richards, Pleasant Grove, and ten grandchildren. grandchil-dren. Funeral services were held in the Second ward chapel Wednesday at 2 p. m. under the direction of Bishop B. H. Adams. A trio, composed of Lounse Adams, Mabel Okelberry and Maybell Badham and accompanist of Payson, rendered, "I Know That My Redeemer Liveth." The invocation invoca-tion was given by Bishop F. D. At-wood At-wood followed by a solo, "My Faith In Thee" by May R. Walker, accompanied accom-panied by Miss Lavina Jenson. Dr. L. N. Ellsworth read a sketch of the life of the deceased and spoke of her work in the Primary association associa-tion while she was a resident of Mammoth, and activities in the Religion Re-ligion class and Daughters of the Pioneer organization in Pleasant Grove. Her parents were of fine pioneer stock of this vicinity. She was charitable and generous with those in need. She cared for her husband during the failing years of his life and was always a devoted wife and mother. She always sympathized sym-pathized with those in need and was a second mother to her brother's children. Dr. Ellsworth closed his remarks by reading an original poem Fresident W. W. Warnick spoke of the life cf sister Hillman as being ideal as a wife and mother, of her wonderful influence o.n all whom she came in contact. She had an abiding faith in the L. D. S. faith. The first generation of the Smith family have passed away and sister Hattie Richards, a sister of sister Hillman is the last of this generation. The rest have passed on to another sphere that we hope is better than this one. James D. Thorne, spoke of his friendship for the Hillman family and the many pleasant associations with the different - members of the family. Bishop B. H. Adams gave a few closing remarks. He told of the sacrifice of the Hillman family in sending Guy on a mission when he was the last prop in the family and Brother Hillman's health was failing. fail-ing. . A duet, "Just for Today" was rendered ren-dered by May R. Walker and son, Jesse, with Mrs. Lavona Jenson as : accompanist. The benediction was pronounced by C. R. Clark. Interment was in Pleasant Grove : cemetery where tho grave was dedi-, dedi-, cated by Dr. L. N. Ellsworth of Salt ; Lake City. |
