Show Mother of Large Family Dies Suddenly The entire community was saddened sad-dened to learn early Wednesday morning of the death of Mrs. Min-jnie Min-jnie Martin Pulley Christensen, 43, wife of Julius Christensen, which j occured at 1:30 a. m. Wednesday. The sympathy of all goes out to the bereaved husband and children in the loss of a beloved and faithful faith-ful helpmate and mother. Mrs. Christensen became serious-ill serious-ill Sunday and Tuesday morning gave birth to a baby girl. The child was dead, and within a few hours after its birth complications set in which resulted in her demise. de-mise. The deceased was born April 9, 1890, in Yorkshire, England, a daughter of James and Mary Ann Lyson Martin. When she was fourteen four-teen years of age the family emigrated emi-grated to this country, coming to Utah and settling in American Fork. She grew to womanhood here and in January 1909 married Chester C. Pulley of this city. To them were born six children, Wil-ford, Wil-ford, Ray, Alfred, Earl, Mary and Martha, all living. On January 3, 1924, she married Julius C. Christensen of American Fork and from this union four children were born, three of whom are living, James, Ralph and Vern. In spite of the many hard trials which have beset her path of life, Mrs. Christensen maintained a happy hap-py disposition which has endeared her to many. Gifted with a lovely soprano voice she has given freely of time and talent upon innumerable innumer-able occasions in this and other communities, g(oing many times when her presenoe was needed by her large family at home but her natural inclination to please others took her away. The deceased is survived by her husband, nine children, three stepchildren, step-children, Glen, Mae and Ha Christensen, Christ-ensen, her father, and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. James Martin of Salt Lake City, and the following brothers and sisters: Dr. Thomas L. Martin of Provo; James H. Martin, Mar-tin, Toronto, Canada; Edward L. Martin, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Henry L. Martin, Alhambra, California; Cali-fornia; David L. Martin, Red Lodge, Montana; Mrs. Mary M. Hansen, Price, Utah; Mrs. Sarah Ellen M. Muzzell, Provo; also one grandchild. grand-child. Of her children, six are at home, Wilford resides at Mapleton; Ray lives in Manilla and Alfred in Price. Funeral services will be held Sunday Sun-day afternoon at 2 o'clock in the First ward chapel. Friends may call at the family residence after 10 a. m. Sunday. Brief services for the new born daughter were held Tuesday afternoon after-noon at 4 o'clock at ihe residence of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Brown. E. J. Seastrand offered a prayer, Orval C. Mercer made brief remarks re-marks and Ray Pulley and wife, Rose Butte Pulley, sang "That Sweet Story Of Old." The grave in the city cemetery was dedicated by Dr. Thomas L. Martin of Provo. o |
