Show Alpine and completed two years of high school work at the American Fork high school. He held the office of a Priest in the Aaronic Priesthood. Being the oldest child of a largo family, as he grew to manhood he was a great help to father and mother moth-er on the farm as well as assisting in tending to the sheep, and his sudden demise, March 23, 1929, has brought sorrow Indeed to his parents, brothers broth-ers and sisters. SOLEMN' FOE HAL SERVICES HELD FOB KAItL HCDASLEL Solemn and impressive were the funeral services held Tuesday afternoon, after-noon, March 20, in the Alpine Gym for Karl McDaniel, 23, who so tragically trag-ically met his death Saturday, March 23, at the sheep herd of his father, five miles south of Goshen. He was found lying on a bed In the camp wagon by Bernard Lyman, a fellow worker, around 11 a. m. with the top of his head shot to pieces. A gun I with a known fast trigger was lying at bis side. An inquest was held at the Undertaking Parlors at American Fork, where he was taken, and it was decided that his death was purely accidental, all evidence leading to this conviction. Counselor Earl M. Devey was in charge of the services. The speakers were James C. Healey and Earl M. Devey of Alpine, and Leo Shelley of American Fork. A biographical biogra-phical sketch was read by Clyde Crookston of the High Council and a relative of Mrs. McDaniel. Musical numbers were furnished by a quartet composed of Fred Strong, Leland Beck, Frank and Waldo Batcman, a mixed quartet composed of W. A. Terry, Waldo Bateman, Mrs. Frank Bateman, and Mrs. Edward Burgess, and two violin selections by Leland Pr7day and" Ann Clayson accompanied by Helen Moffatt of American Fork. The invocation was offered by S. 0. Strong and the benediction by Leon J. Strong. The grave In the Alpine cemetery was dedicated by Bishop J. W. Vance. The large crowd which attended and the many beautiful floral tributes testified of the love and respect felt for the young man and his parents.
