Knvision Utah was formed in January 1997 to help guide the development of a publicly supported Quality Growth Strategy, a vision said to protect Utah's environment, economic strength, and quality of life. Much of its emphasis is on methods to handle future growth, and the tools it presents are to give the cities ways to implement the plans they propose. Some of those plans include creating walkable communities, in which residents resi-dents live in proximity to retailers and services they patronize. There are options such as trails and bike paths which reduce traffic congestion and pollution. Knvision Utah has created creat-ed a partnership between citizens, business leaders and elected and appointed officials, to work together to create the strategies.
