Show Alexander Gray Funeral To Be Held Saturday Alexander Wardroph Gray, 90, one of the three remaining pioneers pion-eers of Pleasant Grove, died early Wednesday morning at the home of a son, Lloyd Gray, of a heart ailment. He was born at Haver Straw, New York, on May 24, 1861, a son of Samuel Wardroph and Sarah Elizabeth Bushby Gray. He came to Beaver and spent his early boyhood boy-hood there and in central Utah. He met Lucy Stewart in Central Cen-tral and there were married Feb. 17, 1886, in the St. George L.D.S. Temple. She died May 18, 1930., Mr. Gray lived alone until three months ago when he moved to his son's home. At the time of his death, he was high priest in the church. Survivors includes his son, Lloyd Gray, Pleasant Grove; one daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Beatrice Christensen, Richfield; one brother, Andrew Gray, Pocatello, Idaho; two sis-ters.Mrs. sis-ters.Mrs. Sarah Christensen, Elsi-nore, Elsi-nore, and Mrs. Maggie Burston, San Mateo, Calif.; nine grandchildren grand-children and 21 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted conduc-ted Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in the Pleasant Grove First Ward chapel. Bishop Ertman Christensen will officiate. Friends may call Friday from 8 to 9 p.m. at the Olpin Mortuary and Saturday from 10 a.m. until time "of service at the home of a son, Lloyd Gray. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Reuben L. Tom-ljnson Tom-ljnson and Mr. and Mrs. Lyndon Allred left Wednesday morning for San Diego", California, where they will see their sons Deloy Tomlinson and Martin Allred, and also Maurice Fryer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Fryer graduate from boot-training at a naval base there. Before returning the party will visit other points of interest. |
