Show Life-long Resident Dies At Lindon Home L Joseph Daniel Wadley, 75, died at his home in Lindon at 9 a. m. Sun- ! day after several months illness. He was born in Pleasant Grove January ' 2, 1858. Mr. Wadley was twice mayor of Pleasant Grove and served several terms as city councilman. For four years he was a member of the State Horticultural board. He was active in many church and civic affairs. He was a member of the bishopric when Joseph E. Thorne was bishop and when the city was divided into three wards. He filled a short mission mis-sion to the Southern States. Mr. Wadley was a member of the building build-ing committee when the Timpanogos Stake tabernacle was erected. He moved from Pleasant Grove to his father's home in Lindon twenty-seven twenty-seven years ago and has since resided re-sided in Lindon. It is said that Mr. Wadley was the first man to sign the Republican roll when Utah divided di-vided on party lines. He died on his wedding day, which was just 49 years ago. I Father", was sung by Mrs. May R. Walker. The invocation was given 'by stake President W. W. Warnick and a duet, "Music of the Pines" by Bessie Lowe and Helen Gordon followed. fol-lowed. The speakers were Isaac Carlson, R. D. Wadley, S. L. Swenson and closing remarks by Bishop David B. Thorne- Other musical numbers rendered during the service were a duet, "Day Follows Night," Bessie Lowe and Helen Gordon, a solo, "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" Roy Fage, and a quartette, "O Grave Where is Thy Victory," by the Clegg Brothers and others of Vineyard. The benediction was pronounced by Benjamin Walker. Interment was in the Pleasant Grove cemetery where the grave was dedicated by F. S. Humphries. Most of the numbers of the funeral service were requested by Brother Wadley before his death. Many beautiful flowers graced the casket and pulpit. A large attendance at the funeral bespoke the esteem he held in this community. Surviving are his widow, Rosella Ennis Wadley and the following sons and daughters, Mrs. J. J. Bailey, Lindon; Mrs. J. E. Mickelson, Draper; Dra-per; J. D. Wadley, Jr., Lindon; Mrs. Stanley B. Harris, Orem; Mrs. J. W. Clegg, Springville; Mrs. B. J. Edwards, Ed-wards, Panaca, Nevada, and Mr. Rief Wadley, Melrose, New Mexicd; also 21 grandchildren. Funeral services were held in the Timpanogos Stake tabernacle at 2 p. m. Wednesday Bishop David B.
