Mendenhall of Spring-villu, Spring-villu, was a Sunday visitor at the home of her son and -wife, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Mendenhall. Misses Doris and Moselle Cunningham, Cunning-ham, were guests at dinner Sunday in Lehi. at 'the home of Mr. and Mrs. George G. Robinson. Mrs. Charles L. Peek had as her dinner guests Thursday, Mrs. Ann E. Hunter and Mrs. George S. Hunter. Mrs. R. J. Stice returned from Og-den Og-den Thursday, after visiting with her daughter, Mrs. Wilma Douglass, who had been operated on for the removal of her tonsils Tuesday in the .Ogden Hospital. The First Ward Sunshine committee commit-tee entertained Thursday afternoon in honor of Mrs. Emma Kershaw. A j program was given, games enjoyed j and a dclic'ious luncheon served. A ; Sleele and Mrs. Kleinan were entertained enter-tained at the home of Miss Steele Monday evening. The decorations, games and luncheon were suggestive of St. Patricks day. A very enjoyable j time was reported. The T.adies Literary Association met at the home of Mrs. ". R. Halli-day Halli-day Thursday afternoon, March 14. j Mrs. Joseph Nicholes was assisting 1 hostess. New officers were elected ! for the coming year as follows: Mrs. Martin Nielsen, president; Mrs. Abe Gudniundsen, vice-president; Mrs. William Thornton, secretary-treasurer. The members of the Executive Board were all re-elected. The entertaining en-tertaining feature of the afternoon was a dramatic reading by Isben entitled en-titled "Peer Gynt" with incidental music by Grieg, given under the direction direc-tion of Miss Nina Hallidayt Those taking part were: reader, Miss Virginia Virgi-nia Eggertsen; vocalist, Miss Loraine Boley; violinist, Miss Ann Clayson; pianist, M'iss Naomi Halliday. The numbers were well given and very much enjoyed by those present. A delicious de-licious luncheon was served early in the evening. St. Patrick suggestions were used in the decorations. Special guests were Mrs. Rulon Nicholes and Mrs. Clifford E. Young. Honoring the former Fourlh Ward Y. L. M. I. A. presidency, Mrs. Ivy Steele, Mrs. Myrtle Ingersoll and Miss Ann Chipman, a former Y. Firmage and Mr. and Mrs. William Chipman returned f Saturday from California, where they spent the past ten days visiting and sight seeing. Most of their time was spent in Los Angeles and immediate points. They report a wonderful trip. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Brown and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Brown, motored to Salt Lake City Saturday evening, where they attended the farewell performance per-formance of M'iss Gladys George, popular pop-ular Metropolitan player, at the Playhouse Play-house theatre. "East of Suez" was the play presented. A general committee meeting of the High School Alumni was held Saturday Satur-day afternoon at the home of Mrs. C. A. Grant. A tentative date was set for the annual Alumni day, and the day's activities outlined. Another meeting was called for Sunday afternoon after-noon at 2 p. mi in the City Hall, at J which place further plans will be made and final announcement will he made the following week concerning ! this event. All committee members and class representatives are urged to be present at this meeting. the recent road show and the dancers who demonstrated the Cotillian at the Gold and Green ball, the present M. I. A. officers and teachers entertained enter-tained at a delightful party Saturday evening in the ward chapel. The regular reg-ular administrative meeting was first held, after which games, an interesting interest-ing program and dancing was enjoyed. enjoy-ed. The decorations and games were suggestive of St. Patricks day, as were the refreshments, which were served at the conclusion of the social. Miss Alice Jaoklin returned home last Thursday from the annual 4-H club training school, which was conducted con-ducted at the Utah Agricultural College at Logan, beginning Monday of last week. There were eight other j club leaders from Ptah county who were sent by the farm bureau to take! the course. Miss Catherine Eyring j of Frovo, a "Y" student and former j 4-H club prize winner, attended the convention and delivered an address.
