Olsen gave a party at their home in Pleasant Grove Thursday evening in honor of Ruben Olsen of Long Beach, California, who is visiting here with relatives. Those present were: the guest of honor, Ruben Olsen, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Chipman of American Fork, Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Olsen, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Olsen and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Olsen. The First Ward Primary officers and teachers held their business and preparation meeting Wednesday evening even-ing at the home of Mrs. Anita Parthu. Mrs. Bessie Ovard was assisting hostess. Following the business discussions, dis-cussions, a social was enjoyed. The American Orchestra furnished dance music at the Alpine Gold and Green Ball Wednesday evening in the Alpine Gym, Thursday evening for the Second ward reunion, Friday for the Fourth ward reunion and are playing tonight (Saturday) at Vineyard. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Birk of Provo, called at the home of Mr. Birk's mother, moth-er, Mrs. Louis Birk, Sunday, enroute to Denver, Colorado, where he will play with the Provo Union Pacific Athletic basketball team. This team won honors in this division, and are at the present competing for higher honors at the Union Pacific tournament tourna-ment in Denver. A bazar and program was given Tuesday afternoon at the Third ward chapel by the Relief Society organization. organiza-tion. Rugs, quilts, aprons, dresser scarfs and other pretty and useful commodities were sold, and the following fol-lowing entertaining numbers given: vocal duet, Mrs. Edna Boley and Mrs. LaDocia Wagstaff; history of the Relief Re-lief Society organization, Jlrs. Mary K Abel; vocal solo, little Miss Gean Parker; comic paper, Mrs. Martha Hunter. There was a large attendance attend-ance present including the following stake board members, Mrs. Laura Dunkley, Mrs. . Elizabeth McAllaster and Mrs. Mary E. Abel. A very successful suc-cessful bazar was reported. Niels Jensen has purchased the Heber McNiell home in the Fourth ward. Humphreys, spent Wednesday at the high school inspecting inspect-ing the Vocational Agriculture Depart ment He gave some very valuable suggestions and instructions. Mr. Humphreys also acted as one of the judgo3 in the Oratorical contest, which was held that morning. Orin Ashby of Lemington, and Stella Gardner of Delta, visited Sunday Sun-day with Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Ashby and family. Mrs. David Grant spent the weekend week-end in Salt Lake City visiting her husband, who is there attending Henegar's Business College. Miss Lorena M. Clayson and Quentin Greenwood, both local ntu3-ents ntu3-ents attending the B. Y. TJ. at 1'rovo, have been admitted to candidacy for he various degrees issued by that institution, and will graduate this spring.
