Show 8 Heavy rain PAYSON CHRONICLE THE Thursday, August 21, 1969 A heavy rainstorm Saturday afternoon laid down .80 of an inch in about two hours. Leslie Barnett said he measured this amount on his gauge located at his home on the east bench. The drug stores on Payson Main Street are said to have been flooded in their basements. Water ran over the gutters in many locations throughout the city. Graduation list BYU Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah, today announced the names of 156 8 students who will receive degrees at the summer convocation of the 94th Commencement Thursday, Aug. 21, at 9:30 a.m. in George Albert Smith Fieldhouse. Combined with the spring graduation of 2965 students, the summer graduation list brings the total for the year to 4533, a new Assignments Continued from Front Page Joe Lynn Spencer. In the summer services the degree will be awarded to 32, the Isaac Albert Cooper, 90, died August ina Provo Hospital of causes inci- dent to age. He was born Oct. 25, 1878, in Salem a son of Albert and Emeline Roberts Cooper. On June 25, 1900, he married Mary H. Morgan, at Tooele. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died Oct. 6, 1961. He married Mary Houghton, March 1962 in the Manti LDS Temple. He was a retired farmer and miner. As an active member of the LDS Church, he held the office of high priest at the time of his death. He worked with the boy scouts extensively. He is survived by his widow; 12 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Susie Robinson, Salt Lake City. Funeral service for Isaac Albert Cooper were held Friday, August 15, 1969 in the Santaquin-Tinti- c Stake Center with Bishop Junior A. Butler conducting. Prelude and postlude music was played by Donna Davis. Invocation was offered by Melvin Carter. Keith Cooper sang a vocal solo and a duet was sung by Max and Melba Nelson. Speaker was Fred W. Davis with remarks given by Bishop Butler. Gordon Hales gave the benediction. The family prayer was given by James A. Cooper and Lyle J. Cooper gave the dedicatory prayer. Internment was in the Santaquin Cemetery under direction of Keith. Jolley Mortuary. Pallbearers were Melvin T. Carter, Lyle J. Cooper, Orsen Carter, Cherril Cooper, Calvin Peterson and Arvil Houghton. Joint services Joint funeral services for Ruby Smith Ellsworth Diamond, 68, Payson, and her daughter, Connie Ellsworth Johnson, 28, Tooele, who were killed Sunday evening in a traffic accident which occurred near the mouth of Parleys Canyon, Salt Lake will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the Payson Third Ward Church. Friends may call at the Rigby Mortuary in Payson Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday prior to services. Burial will be in the Payson City Cemetery.
