Regarding the water 'drift, Councilman Richard Martinez reported work on the new portion of the drift should commence by July 15th. He said 130 feet of slab has been placed off the right side of the existing Judge Tunnel Drift and workers had 60 feet of slabbing to put in place before the new portion is started. ' It was revealed that Park Citys new television transmitter is currently residing in Coalville, but it is hoped that it will be erected sometime in July. The transmitter will produce a UHF rather than the present VHF signal and it will enable residents to receive Channel 7. j The question of perpetual care for the cemetery was raised. Councilman Hansen stated perpetual care fees were insufficient to maintain the cemetery. City Manager Wayne Mathews said the City could subsidize maintenance with or without refunding. Perpetual Care Fund monies. City Attorney Carl Nemelka was of the opinion that perpetual care of the City cemetery could be terminated if paid fees were refunded. Jan Wilking suggested work be done to the cemetery which would reduce future maintenance and Mary Lehmer recommended only flat headstones be allowed to facilitate upkeep. Mr. Mathews reported work had commenced last week on the Lowell-Empir- e and Main Street Special Improvement Districts and that both were off and running. Councilman Martinez recommended that Park City residents try to conserve water during this time of construction in that water lines are likely to be broken. The Utah Heart Association recently made its first payment to the University of Utah for heart research grants totaling $45,000 for the coming year. These grants will support research associated with cardiovascular problems ranging from hardening of the arteries to the effects of drugs on the heart. It is the goal of the Utah Heart Association to solve the riddle of heart disease. All research grants are supported by the Heart Fund Drive held each February.
