Sincerely, H a r v D a b 1 i n g July 11, 1974 Park City Coalition Park City, Utah 84060 Dear Editor: The sheets run in the Park City town paper Coalition in regard to the trouble at the City building, pertaining to the trouble the Mayor and Council were all disturbed at, sure seemed to me as a masterpiece in printing and concern. If there be such concern, as a permanent resident of this City, being born here, sometimes I wonder. But, however, as I have read later, the disturbance will continue at Coalville, the County Seat, and I guess all who have read will suppose that the differences will be ironed out there, to whatever measure that might confer from said incident. But, after all, it does seem to me, looking over the town, that it might be a little overbuilt as to the construction that presents itself here at Park City, which I might say also is an extremely small town. I was looking at the size of it now a few days or so ago, and I wondered to myself if there might not be some Federal security law that might be enforced to halt the continuance of such exploitation: Maybe only a certain allotment allowed in regard to the town's size, unless it be backed by a permanent stability of industrial form in protection of the township and its people. I believe a Resort corporation myself is only as a corporation, junk; as to my own idea, it is something that is completely unreliable and I guess this one is seasonable mostly. So I was thinking that the entire Council and Mayor (if, of course, there be such provision for townships) might be at a degree of fault and they might also have something better to do than fight among themselves. Of course, as the town stands now, skiers will continue to come in as well as tourists. But with the disturbance of which we read lately titled as inflation, a threat. Resorts might not be a good investment at all. Well, with all the overdone building in town even with what might be here already and if inflation does hit, skiers will still probably continue to come in. And due to pollution that even a small town in the mountains can suffer from, right where the lifts and ski slopes are might become known as Smoky Canyon. Still, though, if inflation hits, skiers might continue to come in yet, as the smell of the smoke might be pleasing as a reminder of something long forgotten called a barbecue. Well. With all this in mind, heres to the United States in all hopes that liberal ad- ministration might occur l4 v v i ( Mw dpetil throughout the country, and a tittle more interest and ambition of those who administer it might evoke away from what I hope is a past saying with many others in this nation I know, it takes a war to run a Country. And lets all remember the meaning of those two words United States; Im sure it is very clear to all those ROOMS BY WEEK OR MONTH Americans who donate when they can see a positive immediate cause to do. Still, while writing here of pollution which none in this City seems at all to fear, I see on Park Avenue which is the entrance to this City (all cant be satisfied, of course, or expect to be) and that seems ridiculous to me a truck or two have numerous tanks atop each other labeled Nitric Oxide and also in print upon this truck is the word Poison. Being unknowledgeable of matters of this type, I dont know if the contents are liquid or gaseous. But, however, being interested of a sort in the town I live in and that I have mentioned the word or name Federal, I just wonder if the community might be indictable under the Federal 151 MAIN STREET (toil 6494676 TWO BEMOOM2 BATH CPMttMBTBWM.
