Show 1 COALim Wednesday, April 24, 1974 I I WINNER Craig Reece received some good news and some bad news a couple of weeks ago. The good news was that Craig discovered the mystery chuckhole which appeared in our April 3rd edition. He found the contest hole at Park Avenue and Tenth Street while searching for his dog, thus winning the $9.58 in prize money. The bad news was that the dog catcher found his pet and it cost Craig $20 to free the canine. PLANNING COMMISSION The Park City Planning Commission approved two sign applications at its April 17th meeting. Approval was given to Mr. Michael Newlandjs Mother Lode sign and to the Rock and Silver sign of Mrs. Billie Beall and Mr. Earl Parker. PARK AVENUE CONDOS The Park Avenue Condominiums are scheduled for completion by late this summer or early Fall. At the present time, approximately forty of the eventual one hundred and thirty-tw- o units are finished. The brick buildings sit on a fourteen acre site and fifty percent face Park Avenue while the other half face the golf course. There will be sixteen one bedroom units, one hundred two bedroom units and sixteen three bedroom units. The one bedrooms will sell for the two bedrooms will be and the 0 three bedrooms will be in the range. Construction was begun last summer by the W.P. Harlin Company. Hal Taylor and Associates are the realtors for die project. $35,000-$37,00- 0, $59,000-$64,00- 0, $68,000-$70,00- GUNN McKAY t Congressman Gunn McKay visited Park City on Thursday, April 18. After breakfasting with GPCC management in the Gondola building, the Congressman spoke at Marsac School. There, the students questioned mni on such controversial issues as Watergate, Income Tax Evasion, the Energy Crisis, the Hearst kidnapping. Capital Punishment, and the acquisition of campaign funds. After speaking at Marsac, Congressman McKay moved on to the HighSchoolbefore having lunch with the Chamber of Commerce. In the afternoon ,he met with the management of United Park City Mines. RON BROWN HONORED r Ron Brown was named Outstanding Patrolman of the Year at the annual Park City Ski Patrol Banquet. Runn- honors went to Steve Crane. The award for the Hardest Working Patrolman was given to Roland Enomoto while Kim Erskine was presented the Outstanding Rookie Award. Spence Whitney, Eldon Southam, Doug Van Houten, Robert Richardson, Gary Knudson, and Bill Plummer all received pins for ten years of service on the Park er-up i City Patrol. National Ski Patrol numbers were presented to Doug Van Houten and Keith Bates. MERLIN TO APPEAR Tuesday, April 30, Merlin the Hypnotist will appear in the High School Auditorium. Tickets are $1.50 for students, $1.00 for children under 12, and $1.50 for adults in advance or $2 at the door. r FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS t t t t 1 i r Monday night, April 22, was the Festival of the Arts at Marsac School. At 7:00 PM, the school band played, and until 9: 00 PM visitors could view the various projects set studenup throughout the building.
